Born on 19 July 1956, Christian Thanhäuser, woodcutter, illustrator and artist specialised in drawings now lives and works in Ottensheim, Austria.
As part of the Almhof Schneider renovation of the restaurant in 2007, Christian Thanhäuser created a woodcut Botanicum. The initial inspiration for the images came from plants that the Walser people used for medicine or nourishment.
